Teresa Hainsworth

Director of Contract Pricing for the Missile Defense Agency

Teresa Hainsworth is the Director of Contract Pricing for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). She and her pricing team provide cost/price analysis support and advice across all MDA programs (competitive and sole-source acquisitions, primarily for Research and Development, Production, and Support Services). The team also establishes pricing-related policies, and designs/provides training to enhance pricing skills and knowledge across the entire MDA contracting workforce. Ms. Hainsworth joined MDA in 2003 as a Contract Cost/Price Analyst.

Prior to coming to MDA, Ms. Hainsworth spent four years as a Financial Liaison Advisor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). She worked in the Washington, DC Metro area supporting multiple DCAA customers (Foreign Governments, Defense Contract Management Agency, Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Naval Strategic Systems Programs, Naval Sea Systems Command, Office of Naval Research, Marine Corps Headquarters, and Army Office of Coalition Provision Authority). In that capacity, she assisted contracting personnel in resolving audit and cost/pricing issues, coordinating audit assistance, and fostering teamwork with DCAA. She provided advice on accounting and financial matters, and participated as advisor to Source Selection Evaluation Board cost evaluation teams.

Ms. Hainsworth began her civil service career in 1991 as a DCAA Auditor in Mountain View, California, and took a tour in Herzliya, Israel from 1997-1999. She audited small businesses, large corporations, foreign companies, and educational institutions subject to OMB Circular A-21 cost principles. She performed complex audits including forward pricing, post-award, incurred cost, Cost Accounting Standards, financial capability, systems, claims, and terminations audits.

Ms. Hainsworth is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Accounting Emphasis) from Brigham Young University, and is pursuing a Masters’ Degree in Contract Management. She holds Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certifications in Contracting and Contract Auditing.
